Skydiving costs

How much does learning to skydive cost,

and what do you get in return?

Learning to skydive may seem like something reserved for the elite or daredevils with deep pockets. But how much does training really cost — and what do you get in return? In this blog, we break down the costs involved and explain why learning to skydive often offers more value than you might expect.

How much does a skydiving course cost?

At Airboss, we offer the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course starting around €1395. This price covers theory training, jump preparation, equipment, professional guidance, and six instructor-led jumps. You’re literally making all your freefall jumps from 13,000 feet — fully equipped and supported.

Why isn’t skydiving cheap?

The price is primarily influenced by the flights themselves. Aircraft use substantial fuel and require regular technical maintenance. Furthermore, the gear you jump with — like your parachute — must adhere to stringent safety regulations. This means ongoing inspections, meticulous maintenance, and significant upfront investments. Additionally, you receive intensive guidance: a full week of personalized attention from certified instructors, both in the air and on the ground. You’re not merely learning to “make a jump” — you’re carefully guided toward full independence in the sky.

What’s included in the price?

  • 6 jumps with 1-on-1 coaching in freefall
  • Theory day covering safety, techniques, and mindset
  • Complete gear set: parachute, altimeter, helmet, jumpsuit
  • Guidance by certified instructors
  • Video analysis of your jumps (included in most packages)
  • Internationally recognized certification upon completion

What do you gain from it?

You don’t just learn skydiving for a thrill — it’s an experience that stays with you. You’ll discover new aspects of yourself, build self-confidence, and literally step outside your comfort zone. Many of our participants describe it as a life-changing experience. For some, it’s just the beginning: they continue on to their A-license, join the skydiving community, or return each year for a vacation full of jumps.

Another good point: once you’ve completed your initial training, skydiving becomes considerably more affordable. You’ll then only pay per jump, equipment rental, and parachute packing. Eventually, if you buy your own gear, you’ll only pay for your slot on the plane. In other words, the more experienced you become, the more affordable it gets to stay in the air.

A week of vacation, but different

You’ll train at a unique location such as Royan or Morocco. Not only will you learn skydiving, you’ll also spend a full week immersed in a relaxed holiday atmosphere — surrounded by like-minded people, nature, sea, great food, and sunshine. It’s learning, but with a holiday vibe.

To wrap it up

Learning to skydive is an investment — financially, but also in yourself. In just a short period, you’ll gain more than you ever thought possible, returning home with new skills, incredible stories, and certification in hand. What about the cost? Considering everything you receive in return, it’s truly worth it.

“It seemed like a lot of money for something I’d never tried… but after that first week, I felt I’d received something truly priceless.” – Airboss participant
