Safe skydiving with Airboss: how good gear builds real confidence
The bottom line:
Skydiving starts with trust in your equipment. In this blog, you’ll read how Airboss anchors safety into every detail — from the gear you’ll use to daily checks. And why you’ll feel ready to jump with peace of mind.
Every jump starts with trust
Whether it’s your very first skydive or you’ve jumped before — you want to be sure your gear is solid. That’s why at Airboss, we only use professional equipment trusted by instructors and teams worldwide. It’s tested, certified, and reliable. And it’s exactly what you’ll be jumping with.
What makes gear truly safe?
Skydiving equipment is subject to strict international regulations. Every component — from the harness to the release system — must meet FAA standards such as the TSO (Technical Standard Orders). These certifications guarantee your gear is tested for strength, durability, and performance under extreme conditions.
At Airboss, we only use certified and well-maintained equipment. No shortcuts, no compromises. We invest in safety, because that’s the only solid base from which you can truly enjoy freefall.
What’s in your skydiving gear?
You’ll jump with a harness that holds two parachutes: a main canopy and a reserve. Your gear also includes an Automatic Activation Device (AAD) — a small computer that monitors your altitude and descent rate. If something goes wrong and you don’t pull, the AAD will do it for you. Sounds simple — and it is. But it saves lives.
Want a clearer picture of how an AAD actually works? Check out the short animation below that explains it in 75 seconds.

An AAD is also professionally serviced every few years according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Maintenance, inspection & checklists
Your gear might look sleek and simple, but behind the scenes, a lot of care goes into it. Reserve parachutes are repacked every six months — even if they haven’t been used. And only certified riggers are allowed to do that.
At Airboss, we inspect all gear at least once a year and perform a full pre-jump check every day we operate. From the harness to the container, from handles to release systems — everything is checked. No exceptions.
You are responsible too
During your training, you don’t just learn what your gear does — you learn how to handle it. You’ll get to know each handle and its function. How to check your harness and closing system? You’ll learn it, practice it, and do it yourself.
This isn’t just a beginner’s lesson — it’s a habit you’ll keep for your entire skydiving career. Every jump starts with your own check. Not because someone’s watching, but because you know: this is how it’s done.
Confidence starts with personal experience
I use the exact same gear you will. Not because I have to — but because I trust it. I know it inside out. And every day, I see how well it performs — for beginners and experienced jumpers alike.
Safety makes all the difference
Skydiving is about letting go — but never about being careless. By understanding how your gear works — and by staying sharp and respecting the procedures — you make space for the real experience: focus, freedom, adrenaline, and growth.
